Yummy texture and all that, One of a Kind Joyeful find

Luscious textures

Remember in kindergarden when there was that lesson on how things feel? You know, your teacher gave you a rock= bumpy, stone= smooth, sand paper= rough. Well, I have discovered that as an adult, I am drawn to awesome textures. Like beautiful bumpy stones, hand made smooth pottery, silky and velvety cloth.

I love wearing yummy textures and I love looking at them. When I first started painting in oils, I realized the reason I immediately fell in love with the process was the texture of the paint. So buttery, so gooey, I could just mix paint all day.
I discovered a fabric artist years ago that sells the most beautiful luxurious textural fashion pieces. Check her out: Robin Originals
She is definitely worth taking a look at her gorgeous pieces!

I totally feel the same way about texture! I love to use different textures when I am decorating a room or making a floral arrangement.  I grew up taking art classes in the summers and I never did make it to oil class.  I have a high appreciation for all mediums but oils are my favorites because as you so aptly described they are “so buttery, so gooey”! Great blog!

As being in touch with all the senses, I have enjoyed reading about textures and looking at the photos that illustrate them and would love to touch the velvet, did you dye it yourself ? :)

No, I did not dye the velvet myself, but I bought it from an artist who does.

I know, there is something magical and often overlooked about the tactile sense.
