Week Word: Transition
This week’s word is TRANSITION picked by John at The Healing Seed.
Interesting word. When contemplating this word it seems that it cannot be pinned down, all of us are going through transitions really all the time. Growing older, learning, loving, families, friends are all involved in constant transitions. I think the key is to recognize this and embrace them. I feel that it can be like a bridge, going from one interesting place to another.

Hi I'm Joye!!

what a lovely painting!! do you paint everyday? and is your studio at your home? do you paint from snapshots? your memory of a place? or plein air? watercolor? or oils? I’ve very intrigued with painting, although I can’t see myself painting – my painting is limited to the interior of my home! big wide spaces! little detail (other than cutting it, which I’m a pro at!!)…
love your art!!!
True… I feel like I’m in such a huge place of transition… maybe more than ever before or perhaps I’m just paying more attention? A son married, a daughter about to leave for college, another moving from grammer to middle school…. Nice post for this week’s word and I love the painting. A lot.
Great take on transition and a great painting to go with it. Thank you for joining in.
I have all the same questions as Christine, I am totally mesmerized by the breadth, intricacy and beauty of your work. I like to use goauche myself since it lets me enjoy watercolors, but “cheat” a little because i’m terrible at really leaving spaces white for highlights and having the patience for layered washes. Lovely lovely lovely!
Thank you all for your kind words about my paintings! I am a professional artist. I wish I could paint everyday, but I have to run my small business; blogging, Etsy, and soon to open, a small boutique in my hometown of Elkins Park, Pa. I love color and besides painting, I also love to work in fabrics.
This painting is actually an oil, which I also love working in. I paint in my studio, which is in my former garage next to my home. I paint from life or snapshots. I also love to paint people!
Thank you for visiting me
I love how you capture light in your paintings, particularly in your watercolors. Lovely colors too. I’ve have some art/painting posts if you’d like to take a look sometime. Love to meet fellow artists!
Gorgeous painting. And regarding transition, I’m still learning to embrace this fully… my kids get older, being my primary “teacher.”
