Wednesday’s Creative Tip: Add a Bit of Black

You have heard the saying undoubtedly, “Brown is the new Black” or “Red is the New Black”, so what was black originally? Black is a color (not technically a color) that goes with everything in designing something. I think this is really true. Adding a splash of black in a painting, an outfit, a room, pottery, or whatever you are creating gives it an edgy dramatic feel. Not too much, just enough to call attention to what you are creating.
Take fashion for instance, add some black leggings and the outfit has flair, not to mention making you look thinner

Putting an outline on a simple flower can lend boldness to the piece.

Black ink on a painting can give a dramatic feel and bring out the other colors. Black brings your eye to the center of the creation, it helps define it.
