Joyeful One of a Kind Find: Carolina Chocolate Drops

Fiddlin' With Matisse

Anyone who knows me knows that I truly love the violin, the instrument, the gorgeous music it can produce. I have tried playing a variety of music genres on the violin. Fiddle music is always fun to play, and actually can be quite difficult. You have to feel the tunes as well as know the music.
I recently heard a group on NPR through Fresh Air, the Carolina Chocolate Drops. They are so fresh, unique, and fun. Their music is like listening to a trendy jig. Great lyrics, new, yet old. Give them a try. I bought their recent album, “Genuine Negro Jig” and it is fabulous! Read more at their site: Carolina Chocolate Drops.
