A Day in the Life, Collaborations

How do artists get ideas of what to paint?One way is to look at ideas on the internet. I saw this gorgeous photograph from my blogging friend Janine and was drawn to her colors and design. I emailed her and obtained her permission to paint this photo and I have started a new fresh watercolor. Here is my progress:

I am working from a blown up photo and giving my artistic interpretation of it. Working from one side to the other end seems to work best for me. I am trying to keep the color palette as similar and fresh as her photo. It turns out that Janine also loves my art and is working on a photo imitating one of my still lifes. Stay tuned.
