Inspiration Thursday, Philly in the Spring
Ok, let’s be honest, Philadelphia often gets a bad rap: obnoxious sports fans, unfriendly people, urban blight. Well I am here to tell you that there are plenty of wonderful things about Philadelphia. Let’s start with the PHILLIES!! Ok, I know, I am here to talk about creativity, art, and so on, but you do need to know, I am an avid Phillies fan. Now that that is clear, one aspect that inspires me about this area is spring. I moved here years ago from Colorado, which as everyone knows, has some awesome scenery. I moved in the winter, during a snowstorm actually, and thought this area was as dreary and cloudy in the winter as my hometown Chicago. Then spring arrived, wow!! Azaleas, dogwood, almond, cherry trees, and on and on. It is a virtual wonderland here in the spring. One can drive down any neighborhood street and see hot pink bushes(azaleas) to amazing flowering trees to vibrant rhododendron bushes. It can be breathtaking.
Truly inspiring,
Makes one want to paint!

Hi I'm Joye!!

Don’t people have azaleas in Colorado? What a shame!
I love those Colorado mountains, but I do agree, Springtime here is absolutely colorful! 9I’ve seen Colorado in summer only, and it was 30 years ago!
No, azaleas don’t grow there or in Illinois, winters are too harsh. I had never seen such gorgeous spring foliage until I moved here!
