The Journey of Creativity, it is all in the process.
Playing with my grandchildren in my studio, what could be more awesome? We painted while standing at our easels looking at some flowers, painted rocks we found in our walks, found some old egg cartons and painted those for homes for our rocks. At the end of our painting day we were hungry, tired and went in to snuggle by the fireplace and eat roasted marshmallows. The following morning we were ready to start on a new creative project, the paintings the previous day were admired and kept, but the excitement was doing our projects, the slathering of purple on paper, the sprinkle of glitter on the rocks, the look of 2 colors combined on our papers…. For children, the fun is all in the process. Yes, it is wonderful to have a mommy say she loves your painting, but the absolute most fun is the painting itself.
This is something to keep in mind when doing a creative activity, enjoy and savor the moment and who cares who likes it, it is all in the journey!!
