Wednesday Creative Tip: Take a Class
So often I hear, “Oh I wish I had such talent so I could paint!” or “I could never do anything like that, cook a big vegetarian meal!” But these people obviously yearn to do just that or they wouldn’t be expressing those envious sentiments.
One way to get on your way to do the creative activity that you desire is to take a class! I teach watercolor to adults and I see weekly break throughs with adults who never thought they could even draw a stick figure.
I find that adults who take it upon themselves to pay for a painting class work very hard and take it seriously. When they have a successful painting, which they often do, adults feel proud with a sense of accomplishment. I see that it brightens their day and spurs them on to do even more. The process of learning something new is fun in a class with other adults. You have other people who are at the same level and also want to learn a new skill. It is a good way to meet new people and get to know other adults in the creative community.
Take a chance and look for a class of something you have always wanted to learn for the fall!
