Joyeful Friday Find: Awesome Pottery

I found a potter who makes hand thrown pottery and decorates them with a painter’s sensibilities! Atelier Marla is a shop on Etsy that showcases beautiful ceramics. The owner, Marla, is quite an interesting artist. Here is her profile on her site: “Born in Trinidad and Tobago, my work reflects the color and warmth of the Caribbean. Educated in England, I moved to Canada in 1968 where I raised my two children and painted for several years in acrylics. I have had several exhibitions of my paintings, and became known as the pilot painter. My occupation as a flight instructor and aircraft manufacturer did not leave me the time I needed to paint my canvases, so was drawn to pottery. I hand throw my pieces and decorate them with slips that reflect my style as a painter.”
