She Lights Up Our Life, oil

Yesterday was Mother’s Day and I had such a lovely day! The weather was perfect, sunny, in the high 60′s, and flowers were abloom! I worked for a short time in my boutique, then went into my studio and worked on my large new colorful landscape and gabbed with my mom and mother in law on the phone. I then had a scrumptious dinner prepared by my son on our deck. My 3 sons, my husband and I had dinner, which was after a video chat with my daughter and grandchildren. We finished the day watching a Phillies game. They lost, but who cares? I had such a nice day with family and art, what could be better?

Inspiration Thursday: Flowering Fruit Trees

Mmmm, it is one of those spring days today that you feel like the lights have been turned on. Everything is starting to wake up and come into bloom. Color, pastels, greens, and that smell, so hopeful.

Almond Blossom Tree

One of my favorite happenings in the Philadelphia spring, is to look at the amazing flowering trees. They are ubiquitous here.

Flowering Tree

There is an Asian feel to them, almost like walking in a Japanese garden. All the delicate blossoms and pastel pinks give a feel and smell of upcoming color and plants.

Enjoy your day of spring!!

The List Fun question for this week is where am I day dreaming about going for spring break. First of all, what spring break, I am day dreaming about getting one, but if I had one….. I would go to Giverny in France, Monet’s gardens. You can check other blogger’s lists here for their aspirations for spring break Here.

A Day in the Life: Coffee Sleeves

sipping

In my effort to be more green a few months ago, I made myself a coffee sleeve to use when I bought myself a coffee, as I do almost every day. I loved it so much, that I recently made a spring cuff. So many people commented on it that I decided to sew a few for my new shop and for Etsy. Here they are:

I quilt them with a batting inside so they are like a mini pot holder, very cool. What do you think?
