Vegetarian soup contest winner

Whoo-hooo!! My vegetarian soup recipe won in an online contest!! I am so thrilled!! I love making soups for my family and we have a vegetarian kitchen. I heard about this contest at Dana Slatkin’s site
I decided to give one of my recipes a try and voila, I won!!
I look at cooking in much the same way as painting, the ingredients are my palette and I am making a work of art. I decided a couple of years ago to try combining the sweetness of sweet potatoes with the hot spiciness of the jalapeno in a soup. I wanted to use a tomato base and decided to use a can of pizza sauce. The pizza sauce really gave it pizzazz. Anytime I served the soup, people raved. Check out the recipe at: prize winning recipe
